![]() for one you can skip the reloading sequence by switching to your pistol. the awp in CS is still very much 'gayer' than any weapon in this game. now the only difference is that you have to do it twice, but since the k98 is shoot-n-reload i doubt you'll get far after the 1st shot. They have not made them into skill weapons, they were ALREADY skill weapons, because what do you think it took for you to make a first shot? skill. you can jump around like a monkey and you can still fire and reload, good luck surviving an awp shot to the TOE even, AND it has two magnifications. ![]() the fact that the sniper does not get any crosshairs except on scope mode makes it very very weak to fight in CQ combat, and that overpowered pistol is only going to save you so many times, judging you are even AWARE of the enemy. in the original DOD they were also 1 shot 1 kill rifles, both of them. what, 10 left?īy the way, the sniper rifles should be 1 shot not because of their power but because they are simply a sniper class. i check their HP once i die and they have like. i shoot at them, i see the cloud of blood spewing from their stomach and they just look at me and gun me down. if nobody has survived your first shot from a k98 then i must say you are lucky because it has happened to me countless times. The fact that you could kill someone in 2 shots with a M1 garand, and you didnt have to reload or charge up the next bullet in any way and now people are surviving k98 shots when its a shoot-n-reload rifle, it seems unfair. i come close to accepting someone surviving a rifle shot, but a sniper shot i mean come on! the enfield and the scoped k98, it is also possible to survive a shot from these both weapons (unless its to the head or upper chest). I also have to rant about both sniper weapons. So im asking, why wouldnt DOD:S follow the original's tradition? my theory is that since its an early stage but full DOD:s they still havent gotten around to tweaking that. it still is pretty funny walking up to someone's side and point blanking shooting their ribs with a k98 and they just turn around and own you while you were thinking you definitely had them. the k98 was denied the balance it has in the original DOD. and you can tell the developers knew this, because in the original DOD the k98 still has its awesome 1shot 1kill ability, while the m1 doesnt, but the m1 is still semi-automatic. and while it tries to portray WW2, it flies off reality on so many things its not even funny. and it doesnt have to be necessarily an arm or leg shot, they can still survive a shot to the torso or stomach!! dont even say someone can survive a k98 shot in real life to this certain limb or this part because of this certain reason, because DOD:S is a game. Now when playing DOD:S on the german side, it is completely frustrating and annoying to shoot someone with a K98, then start reloading the next bullet as they gun you down easily like a dog. the m1garand does not have a 1shot kill ability, though it can happen (very rarely) but it IS semi-automatic. and do you know why? because they designed both rifles to have weaknesses and strengths to make up for it. In the original DOD, it is almost impossible to survive a single k98 shot, whether its to any part of the body, but its slightly rare. (this comparison is agaisnt an enemy rifleman, not an assault class) if you miss your first shot, you can keep gunning down your enemy, and you will more than likely come out the victor especially if its a CQ battle. however, it still remains semi-automatic. Now, for the m1 garand, it is rare to kill someone with 1 shot, which would have to be in the head. the K98 still remains the same shoot-&-reload rifle it was, with the same amount of bullets in the cartridge, and no magnification except for the new ironsights which both riflemen class have. It has been the rather obvious observation that it is now possible to survive a K98 shot to the: legs, arms, torso, stomach.
